When asked how important are functional life skills a parent responded: "Any 'Functional Life Skills' training would help a special needs child (like my son) in navigating life's challenges at home, in community and in the school environment. In my opinion the 'Functional Life Skills' must coexist with academics in order to be beneficial. Academics are unrealistic and nonexistent without any 'Functional Life Skills' for a special needs child." Ms. J
