Real testimonials

When asked how important are functional life skills a parent responded: "Any 'Functional Life Skills' training would help a special needs child (like my son) in navigating life's challenges at home, in community and in the school environment. In my opinion the 'Functional Life Skills' must coexist with academics in order to be beneficial. Academics are unrealistic and nonexistent without any 'Functional Life Skills' for a special needs child." Ms. J

FAQs

What exactly are Life Skills?

Life Skills are those skills or tasks that contribute to the successful, independent functioning of an individual in adulthood. These skills are generally grouped in five broad clusters: self-care and domestic living, recreation and leisure, communication and social skills, vocational skills and other skills vital for community participation." Yes absolutely, an adult parent, guardian, adult sibling or Community Support person must be on the premises or in the home at all times during life skills Coaching sessions.

At the conclusion of 6 weeks of  individual or group sessions will the client (s) be totally independent in a life skill area?

Every individual will have differing abilities, learning styles, attention spans, etc.   Home Life Coaching will do its best to provide the above named services and give the client(s) opportunities to progress their skills, but Home Life Coaching does not guarantee the results.
